This course is designed for anyone who requires an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements.

Course Content:
  • The role of the first aider
  • Communicating with a casualty
  • Contents of first aid kits and how to avoid cross-infection
  • Recordings of incidents and accidents
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who:
  1. Is unconscious
  2. Requires cardiopulmonary
  3. Resuscitation CPR
  4. Is choking
  5. Is wounded or bleeding
  6. Is in shock
  7. Has minor conditions to include
  8. Minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor
  9. Burns and scalds, small splinters.

The emergency first aid at work course is designed to equip candidates with the essential knowledge, confidence and skills to render first aid in emergencies.

Course Method

Instruction in both theory and practical sessions.

  • Emergency first aid at work EFAW certificate, valid for 3 years.
